Building Project

THEME: Gods Faithfulness and Restoration

TARGET AUDIENCE: Caregivers, Staff,ASM and CIK Staff

ADDITIONAL INFO: After Solai Dam tragedy in May 2018, the classes for the beneficiaries were totally destroyed, the livelihood of the caregivers was also affected. We lost lives of several caregivers as well as a member of the ASM. However, we had to gather our strength and mobilize resources through local contribution and writing of a proposal which was later funded by the Compassion International. Local contribution was a total of 1.3 Million and the CIV was a total of 4.8 Million. This helped us design a three storey building due to the space we had of 50by 100m. The money Was used to design and put up a foundation and build a ground floor through the wisdom and leadership of the late Rev Mugambi-_former patron, Pastor David Mwangi- Patron, PF Sara Mwangi and Johnbosco Andolo - CIV Specialist among others. We trust God the vision for the three storey build will be completed in due course as God avail resources. This build now hosts Solai Happy Child Academy a vision that Rev Mugambi had.

Child protection caregiver training

ADDITIONAL INFO: KE348 solai cdc understands that teaching one how to fish is better than giving someone a fish. Therefore through partnership with Compassion we have empowered 25 savings groups who have registered with the government. They able to save and borrow for economical empowerment.


Dairy Goat Project

ADDITIONAL INFO: KE348 Solai CDC partnered with Farming system Kenya (FSK) to provide each caregiver with 1 dairy goat. KE348 Solai CDC recognizes that empowering caregivers economically enables them to take care of their children as well as fulfilling our vision and mission of releasing children from poverty in Jesus name. A total of 254 caregivers received a goat each. The event was graced by the Director FSK and PF Nakuru Cluster Mrs. Sara Mwangi


Mental Health Awareness and Drug Use Campaign

THEME: Fight Stigma: Increase Awareness

TARGET AUDIENCE: Project participants, caregivers and General Public

ADDITIONAL INFO: KE348 in partnership with KE507, KE605, Solai Aqua and Solai Police organized a mental health Awareness with a message "Help Don't Judge". This was to raise an awareness and help those who are already affected in the society. The event incorporated soccer, marathon and tag of war as away of spreading the message.
The Event was graced by the PHO Subukia subcounty Mdm Gachoka, OCS solai Mr. Ombech Osuru among other dignitaries


Beneficiaries Graduation

TARGET AUDIENCE: Project Beneficiaries , Caregivers and invited guests

ADDITIONAL INFO: One of the missions of KE348 Solai CDC is to empower children with spiritual growth, life skills, health care and psychosocial support to enable them become responsible, self reliant and fulfilled Christian Adult . Thus seeing 26 beneficiaries having successfully gone through the program and finally graduating, the entire KE348 fraternity give thanks to God. Some of those who graduated have finished formal education, some are still in universities and colleges pursuing their various professional courses.
The graduation ceremony was graced by Hon. Liza Chelule (Nakuru County women Rep), Hon. Nelson Gaichohie ( Aspiring MP Subukia), Hon. Talam ( MCA Apirant Kabazi ward)


Mentorship

THEME: Seeing life in the lense of Law Enforcement officers. Mentorship through Sports

TARGET AUDIENCE: Youth

ADDITIONAL INFO: KE348 have partnered with Kenya police Rongai Division through OCPD Rotich to mentor the youth. We have used sports as a tool to help our young people not only to develop their talents but also help them tackle issues of peer pressure as well as drug and substance abuse. The boys were invited at Kabarak University to play with the police team and thereafter had a one on one with the police.


Networking through Sports

We used the forum to educate the public on matters child protection.


Youth Mentorship

THEME: Empowering Young people to become Responsible Christian Adults

TARGET AUDIENCE: Youth

ADDITIONAL INFO: The mentorship program was facilitated by Ephraim Meso - Scripture Union South rift Coordinator. After doing National exams, some yout come out devastated, some not sure which direction to take. offering that guidance is on great importance. Mr. Meso had a session with the youth ,and had a one on one with each youth and the caregiver as a way to help both the youth and the caregiver go through the season with ease. He also had a session with the Part time tutors who play a major role in the development of the children and youth at the program.


Girl Child Empowerment

TARGET AUDIENCE: Girls aged 13 years and above

ADDITIONAL INFO: In the wake of the rising number of teenage pregnancy, Ke348 solai CDC ensured that every girl child is well informed lest they fall prey of those who use gullible girls. Mentorship of every girl child as well as boy child is at the core of the programs vision. This session was facilitated by Miss Maureen Nambuye . She shared her journey with the young girls and even led them to a purity pledge.

ADDITIONAL INFO: Being idle leads many not only young people to engage in activities such as drug abuse among other vices. Covid 19 has ensured many people are at home with alot of time to either use positively or negatively. Amidst Covid-19 pandemic, Youth are amongst the hard hit. A skill that can help one to be able to earn a living goes long way. KE348 FPFK Solai CDC, aims at equipping the youth with relevant skills to be able to achieve that can help them not only keep them busy but also earn a living both now and in the future.
